Danvers Students Graduate From St. John's Prep
- School: St. John’s Prep
St. John’s Preparatory School held its 101st Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 22 at 11 a.m. Headmaster Albert J. Shannon, Ph.D. awarded diplomas to 332 seniors during an outdoor ceremony held on the school’s campus. A Xaverian Brothers sponsored secondary school for young men, St. John’s was founded in 1907.
Dr. Shannon praised the graduates for all they had achieved during their years at St. John’s and he challenged them to put their talents to work for others.
"For four years, we have challenged you to become peacemakers, on campus and in the wider community. Now, we call on you to become someone's miracle, to use your gifts and your Xaverian-inspired experiences to make your mark and bring about change in our world."
Peter Dankert of Andover, a member of the Science Department faculty, delivered the Commencement address. Dankert, who began his career at St. John’s in 2005, teaches physics.
