5 Things To Know on March 7: ‘The Love of Three Oranges” on Stage

A great way to start the day with a quick look at the events and happenings in town.

 

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily source for community events, happenings in town and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Thursday, March 7.

1. Storm: Thursday will be a stormy day, with snow accumulating up to 2 inches and wind gusting from the north up to 50 miles per hour.

2. Play: Danvers High School Academy Theatre will present the play "The Love of Three Oranges" at Danvers High School on Thursday at 7:30 pm. Admission is a $5 donation.

3. Unemployment: The January unemployment rate will be announced on Thursday by the state Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The data will also include labor force data and jobs estimates for the entire state.

4. Consumers: This week is National Consumer Protection Week. Staff from Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office has a series of presentations, workshops and informational tables planned for this week to help consumers make more informed financial decisions. None of them are scheduled here on the North Shore, but there is one planned for Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Central Square Post Office in Cambridge.

5. Board of Health: The Board of Health had been scheduled to meet on Thursday night, but that meeting has been cancelled.
