5 Things To Know on March 8: Incumbent Deadline If They’re Seeking Reelection

A great way to start the day with a quick look at the events and happenings in town.

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily source for community events, happenings in town and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Friday, March 8.

1. Snow: The snow will wrap up by early afternoon with temperatures in the mid-30s. Winds will really blow, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

2. Reelection: Publicly-elected officials who are up for reelection this year have a deadline of Friday to notify the town clerk they plan to run again, without the requirement that they hand in the required signatures that a new candidate needs to collect.

3. Preservation Project: Friday is the deadline for submissions for the Massachusetts Preservation Projects Fund grant program, which has $780,000 to award.

4. Willy Wonka: A weekend run of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" starts Friday night at the Hogan Regional Center auditorium. Tickets are $15 for all ages.

5. Gas: Where can you get the cheapest gas? There's three stations in Danvers with gas for $3.65 per gallon, according to AAA, which is the least expensive gas in town. Get it for that price at AL Prime, Gulf Express on Route 114 and the Stop and Shop station.
