5 Things To Know Today in Danvers: Aug. 22

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily resource for community events, happenings in town and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
1. Nice One: Wednesday is again shaping up to be another nice day, weatherwise. The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperature sin the 80s with sunny skies.
2. Waffles: If it is Wednesday, it is Waffle Wednesday at the Danvers Senior Center. Breakfast is served from 9 a.m. to noon.
3. Gas: Gas prices continue to go up, but at last check the least expensive gallon of regular gas in Danvers was $3.65 per gallon at the Stop and Shop gas station on Route 1. Costco, which is available only to members, was also selling it for $3.65.
4. Pets: Our Cute Pets contest has prompted an overwhelming response and if you want to know which pet won, we have now announced it.
5. Car Show: Wednesday night means it is time for “Cruisin’ to the Tree.” The midweek evening car show is a summertime tradition in the parking lot at the Liberty Tree Mall. The fun starts at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot between The Sports Authority and the Police Station.
