5 Things To Start the Day, May 31

Your daily guide to the events and happenings in Danvers.

Welcome to 5 Things, your daily resource for community events and happenings in Danvers. Here are five things to start the day, May 31.

1. Today both Danvers High's Softball and Baseball teams will face off in their first rounds of the MIAA tournament. Good luck to both teams! Check out Scott Meehan's blog post about the Girls Softball game

2. Today's 5 Things Pic: Last week the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council’s Self Advocacy Leadership Series (SALS) program graduated its spring class at North Shore Community College. (SALS) helps people with developmental disabilities to gain the skills that they need to be leaders in their local communities. Students will also develop skills that will allow them to play an active role in their communities through self-advocacy. Congrats to the graduates!

3. Don't forget: Tonight's Rays of Hope for Project Sunshine benefit party still has tickets available. The benefit will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Green. Learn more about Rays of Hope here

4. We had a great time watching Danvers High School Academy Theater's dress rehearsal of Legally Blonde last night. Check out the photos here, and learn more about purchasing tickets for the show this weekend here

5. Today's Weather: Sunny, with a high near 75.
