5 Things You Need To Know Today, April 20
Your daily guide to the events and happenings in town.
Welcome to 5 Things, your daily resource for community events, happenings in town, and little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know today, April 20, in Danvers:
1. Tomorrow morning, Danvers Electric has scheduled a power outage for system maintenance, in the area of Liberty and Elliott Street from 6-10 am. Affected customers will receive notification in the mail. Any questions can be directed to 978-774-0005 ext 654.
2. Danvers Animal Hospital shared this useful bit of information on their Facebook page: "The arrival of spring means the arrival of newborn wildlife. Every year well meaning people take baby wildlife from their homes in a mistaken attempt to save them. Most times it is more harmful then helpful. "IF YOU CARE, LEAVE THEM THERE!" Please call our hospital BEFORE picking up wildlife!"
3. The proposal for the former Borders in Peabody to become Kelly Automotive's Fiat (currently in Danvers) is no longer happening. Instead, a new proposal for the empty space to become a vehicle storage lot was approved last night. Head over to Peabody Patch for the full story.
4. Last chance to vote for your favorite french fries in Danvers! The poll closes at 9 a.m. today. We'll announce the winner at noon.
5. Weekend weather: Showers are likely throughout the weekend, with high temperatures peaking today, with a high of 71. On Sunday nights, lows could dip back into the 40's.
