5 Things You Need To Know Today, April 4

Your daily guide to the events and happenings in Danvers.

Welcome to 5 Things, your daily resource for community events, happenings in town, and little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know today, April 4, in Danvers:

1. It's that time of year again! The second Annual “Explore Danvers” Scavenger Hunt is happening on April 29. To sign up, or for more information, check out the Family Festival's website.

2. At last night's Selectmen Meeting, Town Manager Wayne Marquis announced there is an open position on the Zoning Board of Appeals. Anyone interested in applying for the volunteer position should write a letter to Wayne Marquis at Town Hall.

3. Today's 5 Things Photos: Resident Kelle Wood sent us some photos with this caption: "Danvers Mite 1 Hockey Team is going to play in the Championship game this coming Saturday. They are such a great group of boys and we are all so proud of them.  For some of them, including my son, Kevin, it will be their last year as a Mite; about half the team is moving up to Squirts. It has been a great year and we are finishing on a great note!"

4. Danvers Selectman hopeful Rick Bettencourt is a brand new blogger on Danvers Patch! Check out his first post here. If you're interested in blogging, start here.

5. Today's Weather: Sunny, with a high near 61 degrees.
