5 Things You Need To Know Today, Aug. 31

Road paving, career night, and a reminder about brush pick-up from the DPW.

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 31. Here are five things you need to know today:

1. Reminder from the Department of Public Works & Danvers PD: Starting today at 6 a.m., Liberty Street will be closed between High Street and Elliott Street for paving.

2. Sunny skies with a high of 83 degrees are predicted today by the National Weather Service. Speaking of hot temperatures, check out the latest post from our Each Peach Cafe bloggers: Cold Smoothies with HOT Results

3. Did you know that Twitter has been going crazy over our "Celebrity Tweets and Billboards Keep Kidney Search Alive" article? In 24 hours the message has been re-tweeted by celebrities including Kirstie Alley and Katharine McPhee. If you want to spread the story, tweet the story with the hashtag: #callingallkidneys.

4. Tonight at 6:30 p.m. North Shore Community College will be hosting a Career Night. This free opportunity will be held on the Danvers campus.

5. Don't forget- The town will be opening the Transfer Station this Saturday, September 3, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Danvers residents only (no commercial vehicles) for disposal of brush. No sticker or fee will be required.
