Welcome to 5 Things, your daily resource for the events and happenings in town. Here are five things you need to know today, Jan. 31, in Danvers:

1. We're excited to launch a brand new feature today Danvers Patch, perfect for those who like food, couponing, and saving money. The first of the series will premiere this morning at 8 a.m.

2. Today at 10 a.m. the Peabody Institute Library is hosting a free Kids Music With Dara. Dara incorporates familiar songs, finger plays, rhythmic activities, creative movement and instrument playing.

3. Tonight a Title One Workshop will be held at Holten-Richmond Middle School. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

4. St. Mary of the Annunciation School is hosting an Open House today and tomorrow for perspective students and parents. The program, starting at 9:30 a.m., will include a general information session, followed by tours, refreshments and conversation with students and staff.

5. Today's Weather: Snow showers, possibly mixing with rain after noon, then gradually ending. Highs will reach 41 degrees. Take a look back at this winter's weather so far, in comparison to last year, here.
