Blood, Platelets, West Side Story or Basketball Tryouts?
You can donate blood and platelets to the American Red Cross, watch West Side Story at the library, take in a quilt exhibit, sing karaoke or try out for the Bay State Blizzards girls basketball this weekend.
The American Red Cross is holding a blood and platelet drive at its local blood donation center at 99 Rosewood Dr. You can donate blood on Saturday from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. and platelets from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Sunday as well for platelets). The Red Cross center will be continuing both drives through next week, so make sure to check the events calendar for times.
After you’ve given a pint or two, stop by the library for a matinee showing of West Side Story at 2 p.m.
The North Shore Unitarian Universalist Church is holding a reception for local quilter Andi Lindsey on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. Her exhibit is open to all.
Bring your singing voice down to the Village Green Saturday night (9 p.m.) for some karaoke in the Tavern on the Hill.
The Bay State Blizzard Girls AAU Basketball Tryouts are Sunday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Essex Aggie. There is a $40 non-refundable fee. Grades 6-8 can show off their stuff from 9-11 a.m. and grades 9-11 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tryouts will be held again on Jan. 29.
