Brown-Warren: Do You Believe There's a War on Women?

Trailing in the latest polls, Elizabeth Warren charged Scott Brown is part of a Republican war on women. Do you agree, or is this just a stunt?

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has opened up a lead over challenger Elizabeth Warren in a new poll released Tuesday. Public Policy Polling has Brown over Warren by five points.

Voters go to the polls on Nov. 6.

On the stump, however, Warren's on the offensive, saying Brown and the Republican party are waging a war on women. She's pointed to comments by Missouri Senate hopeful Todd Akin as the latest evidence of that war. Akin has been roundly condemned by liberals and conservatives alike for his statement that it's rare for women to become pregnant after a "legitimate rape." Akin has apologized and attempted to clarify his statement, saying he meant "forcible rape."

Brown has publicly called on Akin to drop out of the race, and asked that the Republican party soften its stance on abortion

What do you think? Is Warren right about Republicans trying to claw back women's rights? Did Brown call for Akin's withdrawal to blunt these attacks? Or are Warren's claims about a war on women just the smoke and mirrors of a losing campaign? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

From a lifelong Democrat, this is a naive and terrible political move by Warren. This will only cost her votes.

The whole "War on Women" deal is a pathetic pander and a smoke screen away from the fact Obama has the worst economic record of any modern Pres when you consider the GDP growth, unemployment and climbing debt.

As an independent, and a woman, the whole war on women is ridiculous. It is just a ploy to distract from the real truth about this election and the economy!

It is a deflection from the real issues. She's playing "the woman card". Frankly I'm tired of "the __________ card" (fill in whatever minority membership benefits you most). It's always a deflection from real issues.

The conservative position on abortion is not about taking away the rights of women its about a difference in opinion about whether life begins at conception or at birth. Thus it is about whether it is birth control or murder. I don't know the answer to it but I do find it a bit disgusting that some people make the issue about the mother when really its about the child. Is it a living human yet or not? When it does become a human then society's job is to protect it's life, liberty and pursuit of happiness just like the rest of us. Sometimes you even need to protect a child from the actions of their own mother. Eventually someone way smarter and wiser than I will figure out when a human life begins.

No. I don't believe that at all. Women are more than just abortion consumers and we need what men need. Jobs and a better business climate. I am a democrat, but this is stupid. I actually like Brown and will vote for him.
