As Hurricane Sandy was moving out early Tuesday morning, two burglars were allegedly moving in to a Route 1 apartment complex.

A resident of the Endicott Green apartments at 180 Newbury St. called police at 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday to report someone was attempting to get into cars.

Officers Cassidy and Melton showed up and arrested Lisa Febonio, 23, of 629 Eastern Ave. in Lynn and Kyle Lopez, 23, of 320 Newbury St., unit 502 in Danvers.

Lopez was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, possession of burglarious instruments, receiving stolen property and possession of ammunition without a FID card. Febonio was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony and receiving stolen property.

“They had all sorts of stolen merchandise from cars,” said Danvers Police Sgt. Robert Bettencourt.

Police found the couple with many items that had allegedly been stolen, including cell phones, GPS, DVDs, sunglasses, a camera, marine radio, phone charges and watches.

At least four cars were broken into, Bettencourt said, and police are working to track down the owners of all the items that were recovered.

After the arrest, they were held at the Danvers Police Department and arraigned at Salem District Court.
