Dance Studio Hosts Showcase With Performers of All Ages [VIDEO]

Arthur Murray Dance Studio will host a summer showcase featuring dancers of all ages on Aug. 27.

Franchise owners Joanne and Mitchell Crosley opened the Danvers Arthur Murray Dance Studio together on Maple Street in 1984, after taking lessons together at the Arthur Murray in Boston and discovering their passions for dance.

At the studio, all are invited to come and experience private one-on-one lessons in a relaxed, fun atmosphere from beginner to experienced, couples to singles, younger and older, there is truly no age limit on dancing. Dance instructor Phillip Boetti noted the dancers range from children, to 86.

"We are so thrilled to be a part of making people dance, and have fun and enjoy their social lives," franchise owner and instructor Joanne Crosley said.

When asked what the best part about teaching people to dance she said, "Everybody has some moment in time where you see something change...some type of confidence that becomes visible that wasn't there before. You watch people change, you watch them grow."

Each Thursday evening, the music gets turned up, the lights turned low, and the disco ball spins to give students an opportunity to practice their skills in a more realistic environment.

Arthur Murray offers a free first dance lesson with an instructor, no partner, special dance shoes or previous dancing experience necessary.

On Aug. 27, the studio is hosting a free August Showcase Preview, where students will be able to perform the routines they've practiced for months to the public.

Arthur Murray Dance Studios franchise is the second oldest franchise in American history, at 100 years old next year.
