Evans: Line Dancer, Traveler, Danvers Native

Sue Evans returned to her hometown of Danvers in 1983 after moving to New York.

Family: Lives with husband, Gary

Occupation: Retired assistant to the president of Sylvania

Hobbies: Sue loves to line dance. She started three years ago when she retired and goes every Tuesday night at the Polish Club.  Sue also goes to the Senior Center when she can.  Sue said "from the moment I walked in the door (at the Polish Club) the women were so welcoming and fabulous." After class they will go into the club for a drink and conversation.

Sue also enjoys going out to lunch with friends.  She works out daily at the gym at Sylvania.  Sue and her husband also love to travel. Just this week they returned from a trip to Memphis, where they visited Graceland, The Civil Rights Museum and the Rock and Soul Museum.  Sue's favorite part was the southern fried food. "I love it, we ate it until we got sick!"

Sue and Gary are huge Red Sox fans. They also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren; Nora, 8, Cash, 5, Tallulah 2 and Canon, 2.

Favorite Book: Sue just read both "The Help" and "Sarah's Key" and enjoyed them, but her all time favorite book is "Gone With the Wind."

Favorite Movie: "Field Of Dreams"

Favorite Shop: The Green Elephant and The Partridge Tree Gift Shop

Dream Vacation: Australia

How long have you lived in Danvers:  "I moved here when I was five, and left when I got married in 1966. We moved back in 1983 and I have remained since."

Why did you choose Danvers:  "It's my home, I never realized how much I missed the town and the ocean, until I was away".

Where will people see you around town: Walking downtown with the grandchildren.

What would you like to see changed in town:  "I would love to see Danvers featured in North Shore Magazine.  I would also like to see all the construction completed."
