The following Family Festival events are scheduled for today:

The Mike Gordon Fishing Derby

• When: Sunday 9 a.m. - Noon
• Where: Mill Pond, Peabody Institute Library
• What: Danvers Family Festival tradition continues this year with the Annual Danvers Recreation Fishing Derby in the Memory of MIke Gordon. The fun family event will start with young anglers lining the perimeter of the picturesque Mill Pond and casting their lines in the morning air. Hoots and hollers can be heard as kids and their parents make a catch! The rules of the derby require children to throw back their catch immediately- mainly perch, catfish, and pickerel. The organizers also encourage anglers to trade in their old, lead sinkers for lead-free ones! The winners of the derby will be awarded trophies and of course bragging rights. 

Polish Club Picnic

• When: Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
• Where: Danvers Polish Club
• What: DJ, Polka music, food, rides and FUN!
