Five Things To Start The Day: July 20

Today is Friday, June 20. Here are five things to start the day.

Want To Adopt A Dog? If the answer is “yes,” then stop by the New England Dog Biscuit Company in Danvers Square from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., where representatives from PAWS New England will be on hand with some dogs in need of a good home.

Children’s Hospital Fundraiser: Panera Bread, which in Danvers is located at the Liberty Tree Mall, has announced that this weekend, July 21 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ,it will host a lemonade stand outside of its entrance to raise money for the Boston Children’s Hospital. From now until the end of July, the company has announced it will donate 25 cents from each lemonade sold to the hospital.

Library Movie: This Saturday at 2 p.m., the Peabody Institute Library is showing the vintage movie “Kim”  (1950) with Errol Flynn.

Softball Tournament For The Rice Family: An upcoming softball tournament will benefit the family of fallen Peabody Firefighter Jim Rice. The Jim Rice Memorial Softball Tournament is August 18-19 in Peabody and is open to teams of firefighters, police and EMS personnel. Town Business: The next scheduled town meeting is Tuesday, July 24 at 7 p.m., when the planning board meets at town hall.
