Forecasters Say Potential for Flooding Friday
Forecasters are warning of the potential for flood again on Friday.
Again, forecasters are warning about potential flooding on Friday because of heavy rain and the remaining snow melting.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch at 3:53 a.m. on Thursday to be in affect all day on Friday.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on the forecast, the weather service said.
The watch area extends across most of Massachusetts – including Danvers -- plus parts of southern New Hampshire.
Friday’s rainstorm is expected to drop 3/4- to 1-3/4-inches of rain. Light rain began on Thursday, but the heaviest rain will occur on Friday.
The heavy rain, combined with the remaining snow melting and already high rivers and streams, “will bring about the further threat for minor river and small stream flooding late Friday,” the weather service said.
