Heavy Fog Advisory Issued for Friday Morning, Drivers Use Caution

The National Weather Service has issued a heavy fog advisory for Friday morning, warning drivers to use caution.

 

Heavy fog on Friday morning could create hazardous travel condition, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service issued a dense fog advisory at 2 a.m. that runs until 9 a.m. on Friday.

“The fog will burn off by mid to late morning,” the weather service stated in its advisory.

Visibility will be as low as a quarter mile, the weather service said. The fog will result in hazardous travel conditions, the weather service said.

“Motorists are advised to slow down as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range,” the weather service said.

The advisory was issued because the fog is expected to reduce visibility for three hours or longer. The advisoy was issued fo most of eastern Massachusetts, including Danvers, plus parts of southern New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
