A dinner theater show planned for Timothy’s in March is looking for actors this week – but will also look for “actors” at show time too.
A production called “Teddy’s Really, Really Late Show” is being planned for March 23. It will be a behind the scenes look at the new producer of a late night talk show.
“It’s almost like a living sitcom,” said Frank Hauser of Georgetown, who is producing the show.
Auditions for the eight cast members will be from 7-9 p.m. at Timothy's on Monday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 5.
While the eight cast members will put on a scripted talk show, some of the show's "guests" will come from the dinner audience at Timothy's.
The show will include some portions where cast members will be called on to take small roles in the show as "guests" on the talk show that is the centerpiece of the production.
Hauser said dinner guests will give show producers the answer to a few questions. The answer will then be used to decide who will be called up on stage.
"I'm hopeful that a portion of the show has a surpise each time," he said. "It's different each time you go."
Hauser said every late night show has a band and he hopes to incorporate bands into the show if it catches on.
Hauser said he chose Timothy's because it is in a good location, has plenty of parking and can host a show and dinner.
"It's a good fit, I'm excited," Hauser said.
The show is scheduled for March 23 with doors opening up at 6:30 a.m. and the show starting at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $45. Dinner will include a buffet dinner including roast beef and chicken. Reservations can be made by calling 978-352-0390.
