Sheryl Is Turning 50 and Everyone's Invited to Party

Sheryl James is involved in many facets of town, and works hard so we can all enjoy Family Festival events, children's programs and summer concerts. It's now time to celebrate Sheryl!

Name: Sheryl James

Street: Perkins Road

Family: Husband, Scott and children Erin, 26 and Kyle, 23. Her children are no longer living at home, but still close by in Danvers.

Occupation: Sheryl has several jobs about town. Sheryl is a library aide and Highlands School, and during the summer, she is the director for Little Lizards and the coordinator for the summer concert series at the Rotary Pavilion.

Hobbies: Sheryl is a volunteer with the Danvers Family Festival. “I love to ride my motorcycle, and to the other extreme I love to knit. I also love gardening, traveling to New Hampshire, hiking and going to Red Sox games”.  In her free time, she also coordinated the Strengthening Families Program with Danverscares.

What are you passionate about:  “Children and hunger” she said. “I just don’t understand why we have hunger in this country."

Favorite Book: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

Favorite Movie: Field of Dreams

Dream Vacation: “I would love to go to Italy.  Some of my father’s family is still there and I would love to meet them.”

Favorite Shop: The Green Elephant

Favorite Eatery: "I love the Greenland Café in Salem, but in Danvers I have to say Sawasdee."

How long have you lived in Danvers: 25 years

Why did you choose Danvers: We moved here for the school system. Both Scott and I grew up in Beverly and we wanted to close to Beverly but at that time, looking to move.

What do you like most about Danvers: “I just love Danvers and can’t say enough how lucky we are to be here and to enjoy all the town has to offer from Family Festival events to programs offered etc.”

Where will people see you around town: Custom Cup, Endicott Park, The Library, or the Rotary Pavilion.

What would you like to see changed in town: "I would like to see a single stream lined recycling system.  If it were easier to recycle I think more people would do it (even though it’s mandatory).”

Sheryl is turning 50 years old and all who know her are invited to attend and participate! Guests are asked in lieu of gifts to donate to the Children’s Barn at Endicott Park. The party will be held Saturday at the Union Club in Beverly. More information can be found on Facebook.
