Nature takes center stage with this weekend’s event calendar, with a meteor shower and exotic animals part of the lineup.

Where/When: Night sky; Peaking at 2 a.m. on Sunday
Why Go: It’s a traditional late-summer show in the sky – the Perseid Meteor Shower. The shooting stars are best seen from a dark spot with a wide view of the sky, especially to the northeast. The shower has actually been occurring since July 23 but will peak on Saturday night.

2. SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS YARD SALE AND BAKE SALE
Where/When: U.S. Army Reserve Center; Saturday, 7 a.m.-1 p.m.
Why Go: Household items plus baked good will all be on sale Saturday morning near the North Street gate to the reserve unit. All of the proceeds will go toward the local Family Readiness Group of the U.S. Army’s 468 Engineer Detachment.

3. BACK AT IT! BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT
Where/When: Liberty Tree Mall; Saturday, 12-3 p.m.
Why Go: It’s an event for all ages designed to get you back into the “mood” to go back to school. There will be a Tae Kwon Do demonstration, face painting, a fashion show and mini-makeovers.

Where/When: Used Book Superstore; Saturday, 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: Everyone loves the exotic animals that Beverly-based Curious Creatures has to show off. They’re expected to bring 10-12 animals that could include anything from a bay alligators to a skunk.

5. DANVERS HIGH SCHOOL FALCON MARCHING BAND GOLF CLASSIC
Where/When: Ferncroft Golf Club; Monday, 6: 20 a.m. registration and breakfast, 7:30 a.m. shotgun start
