Local Pat O'Kane is Making Waves

At the ripe old age of 21, Pat O'Kane has traveled the country with his band, Like Waves.

Name: Pat O’Kane.

Street: Wadsworth Street.

Family: Lives with his mother Doreen and his brother Colin, age 17.

Occupation: Currently plays guitar in his band, Like Waves. O’Kane graduated from in 2010 with a liberal arts degree. He says right now he is a free agent and produces music to make money where he can. He devotes most of his time to the band.

“Last summer we toured the country in two separate vans to promote ourselves  on Van’s Warped Tour 2010 where we sold over 2,000 CDs and made some great industry contacts,” O’Kane said. Band members include: Nick Hall, Kyle Doherty, Pat O'Kane, Chris Hall, Dan Stewart and Colin O'Kane.

Hobbies/Interests: O’Kane collects guitars and can never have enough. He says, “I have more guitars than I do fingers.”

Favorite book: “The Vampire’s Assistant” by Darren Shan, and the whole series really.

Best movie: “Donnie Darko.”

Dream vacation: “My dream vacation would be more of a ‘working vacation.’ I’d absolutely love to go to a gold claim in Alaska, be miserable and dirty for an entire summer and search for gold. I belong in the sticks.”

How long have you lived in Danvers: His whole life (21 years).

Favorite shop: .

Favorite eatery: “…it’s always open, and always good, and always satisfying.”

Where would someone see you around town: “I spend most of my time around Maximum Sound Studios, which is adjacent to . It’s a fully equipped recording studio where bands go to do good recordings.”

What would you like to see changed in town: O’Kane would like to see more places to hang out past 7:30 p.m.
