Let’s face it, we are all aging from the day we are born. Our skin is the bellwether of this aging process on the rest of our bodies.

Recently, I visited this hidden gem and had the pleasure of spending nearly two hours with Grillo in her warm and welcoming spa. The building once was home to the North Shore Realtors Association and was seriously damaged during the Danversport explosion in 2006. Grillo bought the building and breathed new life into it, making it into a home-like atmosphere that puts clients at ease as they prepare to undergo a transformation. I was served a cup of tea, sat by a fireplace and listened intently as Grillo shared her passion for skin care and explained the science behind her work.

New clients meet with Grillo for a thorough evaluation of their skin, primarily the face and neck areas, although she does offer total body rejuvenation as well, yet another exciting option of treatment. In my case, I’m cursed with the middle aged affliction of wrinkles and acne at the same time. Mix in a case of Rosacea and it’s a triple whammy. Yet Grillo wasn’t fazed and immediately set to work to help me.

Before we went into the more clinical setting of the treatment room (although it too is a soothing and tranquil environment), we discussed the science behind the services she provides.

The treatment she would use is gentle, leaving no trauma to skin tissue. Low frequency currents would improve cellular regeneration, signaling cells to repair and renew rapidly. Antioxidants provide electrons, which then neutralize free radicals. Using the cutting edge technology of nano-pico-micro currents, which are administered using equipment made by Neurotris, Grillo would recharge the batteries of my skin at a cellular level. This would result in diminished wrinkles, help reduce redness and leave my skin firmer and more youthful in appearance.

The mini-treatment I had was less than half of the two-hour treatment a client would normally receive, but I have to hand it to Grillo; I came out of there with my face looking and feeling great!

The products used are cruelty-free and made from natural ingredients. Products are thoroughly tested and Grillo says she never sells a product she has not tried herself. Her own flawless complexion is her best advertisement.

The skin care lines are available for sale once you have had your consultation, treatments and have taken home samples to make sure they work for you before you buy them. Please note that some products are only available with a doctor’s prescription. Dr. Anthony R. Conti is the on-site medical director who specializes in the Liquid Face Lift and Chemical Brow Lift procedures using liquid fillers and Botox.

The Natural Face Lift and Body Rejuvenation are the latest and greatest of the treatments provided at the Skin Rejuvenation Center and Spa. Other services include Medical Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, Oxyderm, Nano Current Perfector and Thermal Laser, to name just some of the choices.

During my tour of the facility, Grillo showed me an area upstairs that will soon be home to an ultra-hygienic nail salon. Each client will have a freshly lined pan for soaking, making it a guaranteed healthy experience with no risk of picking up any kind of infection.

Grillo’s assistant, Marcie, was also there the day that I went to visit and she was as enthusiastic as Grillo herself is about the help that they can provide to people with skin problems of all sorts. As the three of us chatted, I learned that the clientele come from near and quite far to avail themselves of the unique treatments. Quite often, celebrities come to the Skin Rejuvenation Center and Spa, making use of Beverly Airport and local limousine services.  The client list remains confidential, but my curious mind will be mulling over possibilities for a while!

All in all, I had a really nice experience, and my husband commented that my skin was positively glowing. The services can seem expensive and each client’s treatment plan will be different, so be prepared to ask about prices before you go in. The initial consultation fee can be applied towards your first procedure.
