NSCC Holds Appreciation Day for Vets

North Shore Community College is holding an appreciation day for student veterans Friday at the Danvers campus.

 

North Shore Community College is holding a Veterans Appreciation Day today at the Danvers campus on Ferncroft Road to honor the men and women in uniform studying at the college.

The college's Veterans Services, Veterans Club and The Women's Center club have planned programs from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. for veterans and their families and other students and staff are welcome to come out and meet them. Veterans are encouraged to dress in uniform to represent their branch of the military.

Featured activities for the event include guest speakers, a care package drive for deployed soldiers, dog tag making, letter writing to soldiers, a POW/MIA Honor table, information on services NSCC offers veterans, flags representing branches of the military and an opportunity to join NSCC clubs.

Items needed for the Troops Care Package Drive include stationery, books, games, magazines, CDs, DVDs, nonperishable food and candy, toiletries, hometown clothing, socks, T-shirts, flashlights, batteries, etc.
