UPDATE: Beverly Man Killed in Route 128 Crash Sunday Night

Another person was seriously injured and Medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital.

 

A 30-year-old Beverly man was killed and another person was seriously injured in a Route 128 crash involving a 1991 Honda Accord Sunday night.

The accident occured at about 7:30 p.m. on Route 128 South at Route 35 in Danvers. One person died at the scene and a Medflight transported another person to Massachusetts General Hospital.

State Police closed Route 128 while they investigated the crash. Route 128 Southbound was closed for about two hours. One lane of traffic was opened shortly before 9:30 p.m. and the other was opened shortly before 10 p.m.

The crash is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time, said State Police. Police are not releasing the name of the person killed until they notify next of kin.

I think they need to hurry up that construction before more people are killed. I can't tell you how many times people have "drifted lanes" at me there, to the point where I am now taking Exit 22 to get to Liberty St.
