A portion of the Danvers Rail Trail will be closed today, according to the trail's Facebook page. 

Danvers Electric will be closing the trail between Prince Street and the Peabody line for the entire day, in order to conduct maintenance work along their right-of-way, Kate Day, Senior Planner for the Town of Danvers, wrote. 

Signs will be placed at trail entrances to alert potential users to the closure.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding," Day stated on their Facebook page. 

The entire trail will be open on Thursday, June 21.
