Remembering Steve This Friday

Family and friends of the late Stephen Conway are holding a special night for the community to share its memories of the man.

Friends of the late Stephen Conway are remembering him with a special event at the Danversport Yacht Club this Friday.

Conway, 57, who died Aug. 27, 2010, lived in town for 30 years and was fondly remembered by residents for the many years he coached Danvers Youth Hockey. He was raised in Danvers and attended the former St. Peter’s High School in Gloucester before graduating from Bishop Fenwick High School in 1971. He graduated from St. Anselm’s College with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1975.

A partner in Northeast Flange and Fittings in Peabody, he also worked beside his son at Conway Landscaping. He was survived by his wife Janis and children: Ryan and his wife Ryanne and their daughter Ava of Middleton, Robert, Timothy and Lauren Conway (all of Danvers).

On Jan. 21 from 7 p.m. – midnight, there will be music, food, a cash bar, raffles and a silent auction for the community to come and share memories of Conway with family and friends. If you have a photo of Conway you’d like to share and add to an online album, e-mail it to info@meaddesign.com.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the Sylvan Street Grille or Cherry Street Fish Market. You can also call Ann Jones at 351-201-1444 or JoAnn Marshall at 978-884-3387 for more information and tickets. If you would like tickets delivered (North Shore area), call Ann Jones. You can also contact any committee member of the fund: Maryellen Silva, JoAnn and Jack Marshall, Kerri and Bob Amor, Kevin McNeill, Jimmy Cicerone, Dianne Brinkley, Paula Hobson or Mark Jones.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Conway family. Donations to the Stephen Conway Memorial Fund can be mailed to: Salem Five, 85 High St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
