Six Teens Flee Treatment Center, Break Into Gas Station

Six teens were arrested early Monday evening, after attempting to break into the on Route 1 to steal cigarettes, Sgt. Robert Bettencourt told the Salem News.

At 12:28 a.m., police arrested Michael Maielle, 17, of 52 Frederick Rd. in Dracut, Zachary Hall, 17, of 6 Colonial Road in Beverly, and Dylan T. Wing, 18, of 349 Haverhill St. in North Reading. 

The three other teens arrested were minors, coming from Brookfield, Franklin, and Norwood, according to the Salem News.

Bettencourt told the Salem News that the teens disabled the window alarm of an adolescent residential treatment center off Middleton Road, fleed the center, and tried to break into the gas station. 

The six were charged with attempted breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property.
