Something to Smile About

Mass General Dental Group-Danvers is another feature that makes the medical center off Endicott Street a one-stop shop for medical care.

Mass General Dental Group-Danvers

The on Endicott Street in Danvers now includes a specialty dental practice among three floors of medical office suites adjacent to the main facility.

Available since December 2010, is a state-of-the-art, paperless practice, which offers a full range of dental services to suit every aspect of oral health for families on the North Shore.

“What makes us special is the fact that we can accommodate adults and children with medical complications, as well as developmental disabilities, including autism. We are a general practice but we have this sub-specialty, which fills a void on the North Shore,” said practice manager Christine Hoxha.

Patients have been appreciative of the ease of collaboration between the dentists at MGH Danvers and its specialized doctors within the facility.

Hoxha explains: “We have a lot of patients who are medically complicated so their oral care is very important for them to get clearance before treatments, especially for the areas of the head, neck and throat. Patients requiring stem cell replacement or bone marrow transplants seeking treatment at MGH are happy to find that our doctors coordinate with their doctors in their care. A lot of these patients haven’t had regular dental care, but we are able to get them in quickly so they can get the clearance necessary and continue with their treatment.”

There is a level of convenience for busy families knowing there is a one-stop shop providing services where they can address all of their varied health needs.

“The feedback I’ve been getting back from patients is they’re really happy that they’ve found us. Parents love being able to take their kids where they go, plus it’s easy parking and they love the building — it’s a really great building,” said Hoxha.

The practice currently is accepting new patients and is open Monday to Friday, with extended hours on Tuesday and Thursday. There are 15 employees at this time, with plans to hire additional employees as the practice continues to grow.

Although the dental practice opened in December, news of its existence has been slow to reach the public, at large.

“We will be introducing  orthodontics and oral surgery this summer and will be treating additional conditions such as sleep apnea, facial pain and TMJ symptoms,” says Hoxha. “I am hearing everyday that people in Danvers don't realize it; we are still trying to get the word out that we are here.”
