Director Nancy Purcell has been running the Gym Works program for the last six years. She said one of the great aspects of the program is that it allows for both kids and their parents to make friends in the community, and for many of the kids, it's there first socialization with kids their age.

Whether the kids are participating in the parachute, games and songs, or receiving a sticker at the end of class, the program is geared toward what the children enjoy, and at a reasonable price, added Purcell.

Along with fun, the seven-week, 45-minute class series also teaches basic skills like sharing and taking turns. "Anything that will help them move towards pre-school and playdates," Purcell said.

The class runs on Tuesday mornings at Endicott Park, in two sessions. Play Pals, ages walkers to three, run on Mondays from 9-9:45a.m. and Tuesdays from 10-10:45a.m. Seasonal Sports, for 3-5 year olds, runs on Mondays from 10:00-10:45a.m. and Tuesdays from 9-9:45a.m.
