Sandy Beach, It was part of n ever expanding Park SYstem when we were kids, Thats before all the organized activities they have now. we had little league only and it ended in June usually so we all just went to one of the many parks in town unless we could get a ride to "the beach' I rember mowing and raking sandy beach many a time, Red Cross swimming lessons, FREE - GYMP and other crafts if the park instructor was around, some balls, swings and teeter totters, with a merrygo round ride( Manyally powered :)!!!.. horseshoe crabs and periwinkles in the saw grass that would cut you legs if not carefull. , thich sucking mud where the sand didn't cover..and a twice daily visit from the ice cream truck... simpler times..

The things i remember most about Sandy Beach was the vast amount of mud, rocky shoreline tough on the feet, horsehoe crabs of all sizes (checking them for coins) and the large wooden open barn structure near the water.
