Will the New Winter Parking Rules Make Things Better?
Let us know what you think about the new overnight winter parking rules, effective Jan. 1.
Danvers Selectmen said Tuesday that they had heard overwhelmingly from residents that the existing wintertime overnight parking man should be amended.
And on Tuesday they did just that - lifting the ban from 1-6 a.m. in the wintertime and replacing it with a system that bans parking only when conditions warrant.
But Danvers is known for its well-plowed streets - what Town Manager Wayne Marquis on Tuesday said is at the "high end of the scale." And having the streets clear of cars all winter helps keep the streets clear.
So will the new policy affect the quality of snow removal? Is it the right move? Were you inconvenienced by the old policy? Will the new policy help you?
Let us know in the comments.

I dont think so. There may be some glitches in the beginning but once people are towed once, it wont happen again. It is common sense. If it's going to snow, park in your driveway!

Common sense is not common.

it's usually just multifamilies that park on the street anyway. makes it harder for running and walking safely with cars parked on the street

Without the old parking ban, it will make sidewalks safer as less cars owners will think sidewalks are proper places to park cars.
