Winter Parking Ban Starts Dec. 1

The annual winter parking ban in town begins Wednesday. Cars are not allowed to park in the street during early morning hours so as not to impede snow clearing operations or access by emergency vehicles.

Danvers police wish you to remind you that you can't park your car in the street for the next five months.

The Police Department announced that the annual winter parking ban begins Wednesday and lasts through April 1. The ban is in affect from 1-6 a.m., which means that any vehicle parked on a public way for more than one hour during that time is subject to a $15 fine and possible towing.

If you were planning on just parking on the sidewalk for the winter instead, police say that's not allowed and could also land you a $15 ticket.
