Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed by Renard Family

Danvers teen was killed in an early morning car crash on Boston Street on June 16.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the family of Dillon Renard, the Danvers teen who was killed in an early morning crash on June 16, the Salem News reports.

Renard was killed just before 4 a.m. when the car he was traveling in hit a flat bed tow truck at All Star Collision Center on Boston Street in Salem. Renard was dead by the time emergency responders arrived on scene.

Angelique Griffin, 25, of 30 Pleasant St. in Salem was driving the vehicle and is charged with motor vehicle homicide.

Renard's family has filed suit against Griffin and Robert Cucurull, owner of the tow truck company, the outlet reports. The Salem News also reports Cucurull received a citation for allowing the parked tow truck to remain on the city street overnight, which is a violation of the city ordinance.
