Young Shoplifters, 13 and 12, Swipe DVDs and Candy
Police said two young shoplifters, 13 and 12, were stopped at Walmart, trying to steal DVDs and candy from the store.
This is an excerpt from reports in the Danvers police log from Sunday through Tuesday.
January 23
- A caller reported a car break-in at 5:50 p.m. outside Planet Fitness off Route 1. The driver’s side window was smashed and a Coach bag was stolen.
- Another caller reported a car break-in at 6:12 p.m. outside Planet Fitness. A window was smashed and a wallet was taken.
January 24
- Police responded to a report of a larceny at 10:45 a.m. at Moore GMC Truck on High Street. The lights and pump from a Fisher plow were stolen off a new truck on the lot.
- The owner of Wild Birds Unlimited on Route 1 reported at 2:57 p.m. that someone apparently tried to break into the store. The rear door was open – the owner said she had locked it – but police found no signs of forced entry and nothing suspicious.
- Stacey Anastosopoulos, 35, of 11 Elsie Rd., Lynn, was arrested at 4:14 p.m. at Walmart for shoplifting. Police said she stole an electric toothbrush worth $130. She was also charged on a warrant from Chelsea, which was for leaving the scene of an accident.
- Police responded to two reports of car break-ins at Boston North Fitness Centers off Prince Street at 9:18 p.m. and 9:48 p.m.
January 25
- A resident on Burley Street reported at 8:17 a.m. that someone smashed eggs on the side of her house and covered her car in silly string. She said she saw a group of high school-aged youth walking in the area earlier.
- Two juvenile shoplifters were detained at Walmart at 3:50 p.m. for trying to steal DVDs and candy. Police said the youngsters were 13 and 12. No further details were yet available.
