The Danvers Town-Wide Reunion Committee indicates that tickets for the Canteen Dance will go on sale after the holidays. They are still hoping people will join the Facebook group at Danvers Town Reunion and let them know if you plan to, or hope to attend. An approximate head count will be a factor in the ticket price. As a reminder, this Canteen Dance will be held on June 30, 2012 at the Vittori Rocci Post in Beverly. It will be an evening event for adults only since there will be alcohol available. You must be over 21 to attend. There will be get-togethers at Family Festival events for all …
The Town-Wide Reunion Canteen Dance is now confirmed for June 30, 2012 at the Vittori Rocci Post in Beverly. The down payment on the venue was made possible by a very generous donation by a member of the “You Know You Grew Up in Danvers When…” group, found on Facebook. Once the Reunion Committee has an idea of how many people plan to attend, tickets will be sold, and we will keep you up to date in this column. It’s suggested that if you can, you join the Facebook group, Danverstownreunion@groups.Facebook.com . Once you are a member you can leave posts about your plans for attending. The …

It seems that almost everyone has great memories about Thanksgiving in Danvers, and here at Danvers Patch, we encourage you to share yours with us as well. Our selection for Picture of the Week from the Facebook group was contributed by member Karen Watson. The photo is of beloved teacher Mr. James Farley, and is from the centerfold of the Class of 1974’s …

Ken Panciocco is both a history and photography buff, a combination that can’t be beat when it comes to documenting the days and years of Danvers gone by. Panciocco is a Danvers guy, having grown up on Burley Street first attending Thorpe School, and later graduating from Danvers High School in 1982. After high school, he joined the Marines and proudly served his country. Participant Chuck Barnett reported that the need for volunteers who are still in Danvers is great, as many of the committee members are remote from town. While specific needs for volunteers are still being worked out, Barnett also says that having names and contact information would be very helpful, too. June 30, 2012 is the tentative date, and that should be firmed up soon. The reunion committee realizes that many …
