More About Danvers High School

Danvers High School

Danvers High School

60 Cabot Rd, Danvers, MA

Home of the Falcons since 1962, Danvers High School offers a broad range of academic studies for students and assistantships in specific areas for select juniors and seniors. As the high school currently undergoes a major renovation, seniors get to return to sixth grade, in a manner of speaking. The Dunn Wing - the former middle school until 2006 - is housing all classes and administrative offices until the work on the core buildings is completed in 2012. The field house is also closed in the interim, but school officials hope it will be open in time for graduation in May. The revamped campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities and a new three-floor science building. There is a lot for faculty and visitor parking in front of the Dunn Wing while student parking is down at the opposite end of campus.

Outside, school athletes compete in Deering Stadium (lit for primetime play), two baseball diamonds, playing fields for soccer, field hockey and one for football practice and a handful of tennis courts along Cabot Road. Woodvale Park is also located at the corner of Burley Street and Cabot Road.

There is no central Parent Adivsory Committee, but a number of individual groups work to support DHS in various ways. More information is available online. Assistant Superintendent Susan Ambrozavitch also serves as the high school principal.
