Danvers Relay for Life Throws Halloween Party to Start Season

Today is Tuesday, Oct. 22. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.
- The season for the Relay for Life of Danvers starts Tuesday with a kickoff party at Danvers High (6 p.m.). Stop by the cafeteria to learn more about the relay and check out the costume contest, trick-or-treating, mummy wrap, face-painting and more. It's all free.
- The Planning Board meets Tuesday (7 p.m.) in the Toomey Room at Town Hall. Here's a look at the agenda. The Preservation Commission also meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Manager's Conference Room (agenda here) and the Municipal Light Board meets at 8:30 a.m. at 2 Burroughs St. (agenda here).
- The DoubleTree Boston North Shore is celebrating its first anniversary as part of the DoubleTree family on Wednesday (5:30-8 p.m.). There will be rich fall flavors of New England and some local brews.
- The date for the dedication and public celebration of the newly renovated Danvers High School is this Saturday from 10 a.m. - noon. There will be tours led by students and a reception inside the Atrium following the ceremony.
- Holy Trinity Methodist Church on Sylvan Street is holding its fall harvest fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
