Falcons Football Hosts Masco Friday Night in Playoff Contest

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Friday, Nov. 1. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. The Falcons' football squad hosts Masconomet Friday night (7 p.m.) for a first round playoff contest
  2. Danvers High girls' soccer heads to Marblehead Friday (2 p.m.) for a first round game in the Division 2 North bracket. The Falcons are seeded 9th and the Magicians 8th. Meanwhile boys' soccer, seeded 6th, hosts Greater Lowell, the 11th seed, on Sunday (6:30 p.m.) also in the first round.
  3. The Falcons' field hockey team was knocked from the Division 1 North tournament on Thursday, losing 4-0 to Needham.
  4. Still in the realm of high school sports, there's a fundraiser concert at Timothy's Saturday night for the Falcons' hockey program, featuring the Brian Maes Band and some special guests, including Falcons hockey player Erik D'Orlando on keyboards. The concert is 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
  5. Bella Sera Bridal will be at the DoubleTree Boston North Shore Friday for a fashion fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. "Wishing on a Starry Night" is 6-11 p.m.
