Friday Last Day to Register for Dinner Celebrating Townleys

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Friday, Jan. 17. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. Friday is the last day to register for the upcoming dinner celebrating Dave and Joan Townley. The dinner will be held Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Danversport Yacht Club. Tickets are $40. You can register at either the Recreation office at Town Hall or at Hartnett's Auto Body at 15 Water St.
  2. The Danvers High boys' basketball team hosts Revere Friday night (7 p.m.) while the girls hit the road for Revere (7 p.m.).
  3. The Polish Club is putting on a rockabilly country western dance this Saturday. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the club for $10 each and there will be limited sales at the door.
  4. There's a beauty pageant and vendor fair Saturday at the Holiday Inn in Peabody. The pageant is for girls ages 0-12. You can find more details here.
  5. Town Hall and other public offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.And that evening, the town will be hold its annual Drum Majors for Justice awards dinner at the Danversport Yacht Club. Tickets are $35 each.
