Get Your Girl Scout Cookies This Weekend

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Friday, Jan. 24. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. The Danvers Girl Scout Troop 63181 will be hosting a Girl Scout cookie booth sale on Saturday from 10:45 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Walmart. You can stock up on all your favorite kinds of cookies and even new gluten free chocolate chip ones. The Troop will also be at Stop & Shop on Sunday, starting at 10 a.m.
  2. Who's up for a little Sinatra with their Sunday brunch? Johnny Ray and his band will reprise Ray's Las Vegas lounge show at Timothy's on Route 1. You can purchase tickets in advance.
  3. In addition to Little Leagueregistration is also open now for Danvers Babe Ruth Baseball and Danvers Girls Softball. The softball league has actually been restructured for the 2014 season and tryouts will be held in March. You can find more details here. As for Babe Ruth, the deadline to sign up in the Prep and Major divisions is April 1 while the Senior division deadline is May 1. More details here.
  4. Saturday means it's time for another free movie matinee at the Danvers library. This week it will be the 1995 film "Beyond Rangoon." The show starts at 2 p.m. in the Gordon Room.
  5. The Phillips House Museum in Salem is offering free admission to Danvers residents this Sunday.
