Library Hosts Blood Drive and Author Ann Leary

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Wednesday, Nov. 13. Here's a look at the week ahead in Danvers.

  1. The Peabody Institute Library of Danvers is hosting An Evening with Author Ann Leary Thursday, Nov. 14 for a reading, book signing and discussion of her latest novel, "The Good House." The event is actually being held in the multi-purpose room at the Holten-Richmond Middle School.
  2. The library is also hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m.
  3. The Danvers Council on Aging is hosting its annual holiday fair Saturday at the senior center from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. There will be a variety of goods, vendors and more.
  4. St. Richard's Gala: As part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebration at Saint Richard's Parish, there's a gala planned this Saturday at the church hall. A social hour will be held from 7-8 p.m. with a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres. Danvers Community Access TV will also show a video of the church's history and anniversary events. Entertainment with the Horizon Band is 8-11 p.m. with desserts, a raffle and silent auction. Tickets are $30 each. Call Anna Bertini at 978-774-5323 or Mary Jalbert at 978-777-0988.
