Local Teens Invited to Meet Teen Authors in Danvers This Weekend

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 14. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. The Used Book Superstore in Danvers is hosting a group author event for teens on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. It's a chance for local teens to meet some talented peers (teen authors).
  2. The North Shore Business Forum meets Fridays at the Danversport Yacht Club at 7:30 a.m. On the agenda this week is guest presenter Liz Hamilton to talk about Quickbooks fundamentals.
  3. Come & Play at the Park Today: The Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program is running a free park program in Peabody now through Aug. 30. The program is open to families in Peabody, Danvers, Beverly, Middleton, Topsfield and Boxford. There will be games, arts and crafts and free books for all kids from 10-11 a.m. If you missed it on Monday and Tuesday, you can drop in Wednesday through Friday as well. The locations are the McCarthy School (Lake Street) Wednesday, Pierpont Park (Pierpont Street) Thursday and O'Conor Park (Home Street) Friday.
  4. Jumpin' Juba is playing over at the gazebo on the Topsfield Town Common Sunday at 4 p.m. More details on the concert here.
  5. If you didn't make the Painter's Pub party at the ArcWorks Community Art Center in Peabody a few weeks ago, there's another one scheduled for Aug. 21. The center is a program of Northeast Arc.
