Paint With a Purpose at the Polish Club

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Thursday, Nov. 21. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. Paint With a Purpose Thursday night (7-10 p.m.) at the Danvers Polish Club. The holiday-themed painting party will benefit the Danvers Community Council and the Danvers People to People Food Pantry. A $25 charitable donation includes admission to the event to paint one wine glass. Light appetizers and desserts will be provided. There will also be a cash bar and bring a women's personal hygiene product with you as well to donate. To buy tickets go here.
  2. The following town boards meet this Thursday: Danvers Council on Aging (3-4 p.m.), Rail Trail Advisory Committee (6 p.m.), Danvers Recreation Committee (7 p.m.) and the Diversity Committee (7 p.m.).
  3. Danvers High School Academy Theatre performs Shakespeare's Twelfth Night this weekend, starting Friday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the door or online.
  4. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. The Danvers Public Schools says it will be dismissing students for Thanksgiving recess on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the following times: 11:35 a.m. at Danvers High School and Holten-Richmond Middle School and 12:05 p.m. at all elementary schools. No lunch will be served that day.
  5. Danvers Church of the Nazarene is holding a clothing benefit sale Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be gently used children and adult clothing, shoes and boots for sale for $5 or less. All proceeds will be used to create Christmas baskets for those in need in the community.
