Paving Today: Motorists Should Seek Alternate Route to Sylvan St

Paving is scheduled for Aug. 21 on Sylvan Street in both Peabody and Danvers. Motorists are encouraged to seek another route around the area.

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 21. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. Paving starts Wednesday on Sylvan Street. Police say motorists should seek alternate routes around the area. Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. No on-street parking is allowed in the construction area and any violators may be towed at the owner's expense. Paving is scheduled for both the Peabody and Danvers sections of the street.
  2. The raffle prize this month over at Danvers Community Access TV is a $50 gift certificate to Cakes for Occasions. When you volunteer at DCAT, you get a ticket. The drawing is Sept. 2.
  3. Buffalo Wild Wings and Yahoo! Sports have joined forces to declare Aug. 24 National Draft Day for all you fantasy football league players. The restaurant says it's ready and willing to host draft parties, just call to reserve your spot and get a free Yahoo! tee shirt and a draft kit.
  4. Sweet Repeats fall consignment sale is this weekendSweet Repeats is a seasonal children's consignment sale, which will be held Saturday (9 a.m. - 9 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.) at the Liberty Tree Mall.
  5. You can still get in some swimming this summer over at the Bradley Palmer State Park wading pool in Topsfield. The pool closes Sept. 2.
