Planning Board Has Busy Agenda; Blood Drive Wednesday

Here's what you need to know in Danvers today.

Today is Tuesday, Nov. 12. Here's a look at the week ahead in Danvers.

  1. The Planning Board convenes for its regular meeting Tuesday (7 p.m.) at Town Hall. On the agenda is a request from Galo Emerson, Jr. for endorsement of a plan to subdivide a parcel of land behind Putnam Pantry into two lots, followed by four public hearings. BitCon Corporation seeks a special permit to erect a 4,000-square-foot building at 20 Pope's Ln. for a contractor's yard, there's a request for site plan approval of a new 22,000-square-foot church building on undeveloped property at 256 Andover St., the Danversport Yacht Club wants approval to construct a solar photovoltaic mounting canopy for its parking lot and the board will also be hearing plans for that large expansion and new building at Danvers Indoor Sports.
  2. The St. Mary of the Annunciation School is holding an admissions open house on Tuesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
  3. The Peabody Institute Library of Danvers is hosting An Evening with Author Ann Leary Thursday for a reading, book signing and discussion of her latest novel, "The Good House."
  4. The library is also hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m.
  5. The Massachusetts Association of Insurance Women Essex Chapter meets for its monthly November gathering Wednesday at Timothy's. Kathryn Coggeshall of Phil Richard Insurance will presenting a program on raising awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.
