Planning Board to Discuss Warrant Article for Marijuana Dispensaries

Here's what you need to know today in Danvers.

Today is Tuesday, Oct. 8. Here are five things to know today in Danvers.

  1. The Planning Board meets Tuesday (7 p.m.) in the Toomey Room. A public hearing on a special permit and site plan approval at 20 Pope's Ln. for a contractor's yard and construction of a 4,000-square-foot building has been continued again to Nov. 12. The board will also be discussing Tuesday night a draft warrant article relating to medical marijuana treatment centers in town.
  2. The Danvers Police Department will be holding its next firearms licensing day on Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. No appointments are necessary, and you can find more information here.
  3. Want to learn more about researching your ancestors on the Internet? The first of a three-part series with genealogist Laura Prescott is Wednesday at the Peabody Institute Library of Danvers.
  4. State Sen. Joan Lovely will also be at the Danversport Yacht Club Wednesday morning to talk about small business in Massachusetts.
  5. Danvers Indoor Sports is holding an open house Wednesday from 10 a.m. - noon to show off a new adult varsity program.
