Coffeehouse was special tribute with "Friends of Fran"

On Saturday, October 26, Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church on Route 62 held its most recent Three Cords Coffeehouse, but this one had a special feel to it. Originally scheduled as a concert featuring Fran Dagostino and his band, Fran fell seriously ill and the show was going to be canceled. However, people stepped up to make sure that didn’t happen.

Bryan and Fran Bishop, who play bass and drums respectively with Fran, wanted to keep the gig alive as a way to honor their sick friend and band leader. Amadee Castenell (saxophone and flute), Tony Carle (guitar), Larry Luddecke (keyboard), and Parker Wheeler (harmonica and vocals) rounded out the “Friends of Fran” who filled the Parish Hall at the church with upbeat, soulful R&B/Blues and dance music.

This was the fourth in the Three Cord Coffeehouses held at CTR, with others featuring Courtney Reid, Michael Tulimiero, and Innaray Oliveira. Like previous shows, this one included made-to-order café beverages and snacks. There will be no November coffeehouse, however the December Coffeehouse will be a Christmas Concert with female trio Maeve on Saturday, December 21.
