Danvers Community YMCA Has Job Openings

The Danvers Community YMCA has two positions open.

Here are the two jobs, a full-time and a part-time position:

Child Care Coordinator

The Danvers Community YMCA is looking for a full-time Child Care Coordinator, which assists the Y’s Youth & Family Director in “managing school age childcare programs, summer came and other youth and family activities,” according to the YMCA.

Functions:

Assist in managing all afterschool age group programs.

Work to develop and implement program curriculum and program activities.

Work to recruit, interview and supervise staff team.

Complete administrative work as required by the Y and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Promote and market the program.

Work hands-on to meet ratio requirements

Assist in other program areas as needed as part of the Y staff team.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum age of 21.

Minimum of one year experience working in a supervisory capacity in childhood or a related field.

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Knowledge of working with Microsoft Office.

CPR, First Aid and AED must be up to date within 30 days of hire.

Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.

Must meet requirement of Massachusetts EEC for School Age Child Care and have a clean background check.

 

Part-time Swim Coach

The Danvers YMCA Dolfins are looking for two “organized, energetic and technique-oriented coaches” for the team that is made up of children between the ages of 6 and 18. The team practices year-road and has a regular season from September to June. The YMCA is looking for help for the upcoming summer session, which begins after July 4.

“We are looking for coaches who are reliable, enthusiastic and have an extensive swimming background. Coaches with experience writing progressive, detailed workouts are preferred. Practices run five days a week for 1.5-2 hours long with a 1.5 hour long practice on Saturdays. Dual meets occur on the weekends, normally Saturdays. CPR, first aid, USA coaching and other certifications are necessary, but can be attained after acceptance,” said the YMCA.
