MA Gas Prices Down Heading into Memorial Day Weekend

Average gas price in state was 16 cents lower a year ago.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down a penny from last week, according to AAA Southern New England.

In its May 19 survey of gas prices in Massachusetts, AAA found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.65 per gallon, down one cent from last week. Prices locally are 5 cents higher than a month ago. The current price is the same as the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.65. A year ago the Massachusetts average price was 16 cents lower at $3.49.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 25 cents, from a low of $3.54 to a high of $3.79.

Here are the current gas prices and ranges (all prices shown are self serve):

  • Regular Unleaded: $3.659 ($3.549-$3.799)
  • Midgrade Unleaded: $3.849 ($3.679-$3.999)
  • Premium Unleaded: $3.969 ($3.749-$4.299)
  • Diesel: $4.069 ($3.889-$4.399)
